New Wings Forums

  • Salute all!

There's no easy way to go about this, really. I have been involved in Rise of Flight since 2012 and loved every minute of it. But there comes a time when all good things must come to an end. As of today, I am leaving the Rise of Flight community.

I am not bitter or angry. I am not disillusioned. Please understand that no one drove me away. This is merely me entering a new stage in my life; a stage where I need to focus on other things. Although it is one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, it is the right one for where I'm at.

For six years, I have poured myself into this community. It has been my privilege and pleasure to do so. I was there as development shifted away from Rise of Flight, and now, as I leave, the future is brighter than ever for WW1 flight sims. Keep the dream alive, gents.

The one thing I'll regret most about leaving is missing the friendships I've formed - too many to count. It has been an absolute honor to know you all. Thank-you for the cameraderie, training, sparring, and flying. I will deeply miss it.

I will never say never, but at this time in my life, this is goodbye.

Salute and blue skies to you all!

  • As mentioned on the 777 Forums, Best Wishes to you in your new endeavours.

It was a pleasure flying with (and against) you over the years, and I'm certain you'll be missed in the RoF community. Perhaps, one day, your trail will loop around, and we'll see you again sometime.

    Cheers,

  • I am saddened to hear that "one of the good guys" in the RoF community has decided to move on but, life moves on as well. frown

I remember a young cadet by the name of RookieAce flying in the Basic Training server and also participating in the "Tuesday Fly-ins." You have advanced in you skills way beyond those days. Thanks for the hard work putting together the very helpful, Ultimate Rise of Flight "Free to Play" Guide, an outstanding video to promote RoF and your Twitch Stream videos.

Good luck in your new found endeavors.

  • FourSpeed: As I mentioned on the ROF forums, it has been an absolute pleasure to know you! I've had a blast flying these old crates with you and learned quite a lot from you. I'll always have fond memories of this time. smile

Jarvis: Haha, yes I remember those days. Back when I was merely a fresh-faced recruit from the furball servers who gradually succumbed to the siren call of more serious flying. But...not too serious to have fun with you guys on Tuesday nights lol! The work I've done has been a pleasure and I'd do it all again. Hopefully it continues to help inspire new pilots for a little while longer. Also, thank YOU for all the hard work YOU'VE done, Sir! I think it's fantastic all the time you've put into helping new recruits find their wings. Keep it up, man. smile
